Gillian, 67, who lives in her own home under the care of Diagrama’s Supported Living Service in Bromley, has had a wish fulfilled by local dance school, Shimmi Shake.
Diagrama has been running a ‘Wish Tree’ initiative throughout its services, to grant the wishes of the people they support, Gillian’s wish was to have a dance experience.
When Diagrama reached out to Shimmi Shake Dance School, based in Bromley and owned by Diagrama Adopter Sue, they were only too happy to help. The Dance School invited Gillian to visit Langley Park Centre of Performing Arts in Beckenham on May 29th to watch the show ‘Together Again’, performed by the children who attend the dance school.
Sue said, “It was a lovely to see Gillian in the audience for our Dance Show. The joy on her face as she watched the performances was heart-warming. We have invited Gillian to attend one of our dance classes and we hope she can learn a few moves that she can perform for her friends when Diagrama has their next event.”
Marina Rubio, registered manager of Diagrama’s Supported Living Service said, “Gillian thoroughly enjoyed the show, so much so that she wanted to buy flowers for all the dancers who took part. She is very excited to participate in one of the dance classes and we are all so grateful to Sue for making her wish come true.”
