A Beckenham business has helped families connected with Diagrama Foundation’s Fostering and Adoption services celebrate the New Year with two children’s parties.
The parties offer adoptive families the chance to get together, share experiences, support one another and build new friendships.
For children within reach of London, a party was held at The Spa in Beckenham. Children played in the Buzz Zone soft play area, while the adults chatted and made supportive links. The venue was well received by everyone who attended.
One adopter said: “The venue was amazing, excellent choice as the children have been there before.” Another added: “Children could play, express themselves whilst having lots of fun.”
Diagrama social workers Neena Ahluwalia and Julie Terry helped organise the day and introduced adopters to one another. One adopter even made the decision to begin the adoption process for a second time at the party!
Julie said: "The Spa soft play was a real success, with 30 adopters and children attending. It was great to catch up individually with all adopters.”
Neena added: “It was great to see so many happy families that we have helped all together and amazing to see how well all the children got on.”
The Spa donated the exclusive hire of the venue for the party and provided drinks, all free of charge.
Children at the second party, held at a Winchester school, were entertained by Zoe Earle. Diagrama social worker Heidi Freeman said the younger children enjoyed the fun and all joined in. Everyone brought food for the table in the decorated hall and made new friends, whilst catching up with old ones too.
Heidi added: “It was a nice relaxed atmosphere.”
