Part-time marketing and communications officer – Chatham, Kent – circa £24,500 - £27,000 per annum (pro rata)
Our progressive charity is looking for a highly professional and experienced marketing officer to join our friendly and supportive team at our head office in Chatham.
You will be responsible for the generation of marketing and communications activities, with a particular focus on the promotion of our charity’s adoption and fostering services.
Diagrama Foundation is dedicated to supporting children, families and adults at risk of social exclusion. Our aim is to prevent people from becoming socially excluded and to reintegrate those who have, by undertaking research into best practice and developing programmes and centres to achieve this. Our services in the UK include adoption, fostering, training and residential services for adults with learning disabilities and the elderly.
We are currently working in partnership with the charity Home for Good, a Christian organisation which raises awareness of the importance of adoption and fostering and supports people within the church network who are involved with fostering and adoption. You will work closely with Home for Good to support our partnership objectives. Reporting to our marketing and communications manager, you will demonstrate strong decision-making skills, an innovative approach to challenges and the ability to work on their own initiative.
You will be creative, experienced at implementing marketing campaigns and delivering a high standard of work within strict deadlines. You must demonstrate excellent communication skills, be able to relate to individuals at all levels of the organisation and present complex information in a variety of ways. A professional yet personable, approach to your work, particularly when dealing with colleagues and clients, is essential.
Experience of content marketing and communication techniques, as well as all forms of media is essential. Ideally, you will be competent in the use of Adobe Creative software, social media channels and production of video content. A degree in marketing or similar, and a valid driving licence is essential to the role.
Key responsibilities of the role
- Support development and implementation of marketing plans to ensure the business meets its strategic and operational requirements
- Develop and evaluate new campaign ideas and identify new opportunities to ensure Diagrama’s profile is raised within the Kent and other areas as required
- Assist with the production of print, digital and video materials to ensure marketing activity is effective
- Seek out and develop new marketing content to ensure opportunities are generated for service growth in line with expectations
- Assist in developing and managing our social media channels
- Carry out general admin tasks, as required, to ensure professional and efficient service is provided by the marketing department
- Support Diagrama’s fundraising activities through the development of web and social media content, marketing and events as required, to develop new income streams.
- Assist in encouraging a climate of employee development and satisfaction to engage employees to support achievement
- Support our overall policy on health, safety and environment within HR
What we offer
The role is a part-time position of 24 hours a week. Some flexibility may be available on hours and days of work. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required, for which time off in lieu will be given. Independent Form F/PAR assessors

Diagrama’s Adoption and Fostering services are looking for highly skilled independent social workers to undertake Form F and/or PAR Assessments. Our adoption and fostering service covers London and the South East areas and we are currently recruiting within this area. We are looking to have a ‘bank’ of suitably skilled and experienced independent social work assessors from across the south east area from which we can draw from. Independent social workers will report to the manager of the service and undertake assessments in line with the updated Coram/BAAF Competency Framework. Fees are competitive.
