Fostering for Adoption is considered when adoption looks the likely path for babies and children in local authority care, but there is still a small chance they will be reunited with their birth family. In most cases, the children are very young. The majority of children considered for the Fostering for Adoption pathway will go on to be adopted.
It means that you will first foster the child or children knowing there is a good chance you will go on to become their permanent, adoptive parent/s but it is not guaranteed at that stage. Fostering for Adoption applicants are approved as both adopters and as foster carers.
As part of your assessment with Diagrama we offer free Fostering for Adoption training. In this training we will cover the following topics:
*Legislation and fostering allowance
*Expectations and demands of foster carers / adopters
*The types of children needing foster to adopt placements and their typical family backgrounds
*How does Fostering for Adoption differ from standalone fostering and adoption?
